VIDEO: David Meyler's Irish Squad Initiation Song David Meyler provided his new Irish teammates with a rendition of the Uncle Kracker hit "Follow Me" as he took part in his first away trip with the Irish squad ahead of their game against Kazakhstan on Friday. The Uncle Kracker song seems to be a favourite among the Sunderland contingent after John Egan (we think) sung the same tune to his teammates at a similar initiation ceremony on the trip to Korea this summer. More recently on the trip to Swansea, Adam Johnson, Steven Fletcher and Danny Rose all found the time to sing their little hearts out wit renditions of Wonderwall (Johnson), 500 Miles (Fletcher) and the National Anthem (Rose).
Who knows how legitimate this website is, but this just confirms the inevitable. I wish him luck but too bad it didn't work out for the Black Cats.
VIDEO: Ex-SAFC Midfielder Kevin Kilbane Rapping "Ice Ice Baby" To Irish Fans At Euro 2012. Stop, collaborate and listen, Killa's back with a brand new edition! Dunno quite what it is in the water in Sunderland, but it seems hot on the footsteps of Sean Thornton comes Kevin Kilbane with his own version of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby". The video, taken in Gdansk where Kilbane is doing media work really is something to behold. I wonder if we can set-up a battle between him and Thornton...
VIDEO: Craig Gordon's wondersave (which you can see here) against Bolton Wanderers has been nominated by the Premier League as one of the greatest in the 20 years of the league. There's many other good contenders, but I think we ought to make sure Sunderland win something this year. The winners themselves will be announced on May 15th. Ahmed Elmohamady made an impressive contribution to Egypt's last minute winning goal against Nigeria in an international friendly played today. Check out the run from Elmo (No.3) as he cuts inside, beats a few players and plays a lovely 1-2. Credit to @EgyFt on Twitter for the video. Follow him for more Egyptian football updates.
For Brazil he should play, Matt Kilgallon... Perhaps anyway, here's a cracking GIF of the silky skilled defender at Manchester City this weekend gone, not only turning two players, but lofting a lovely Rabona, the likes of which even Stephane Sessegnon would be proud. Prettayyyy, prettay good.
Fraizer Campbell here modeling the new Team GB kit to be worn at the Olympics this summer. Could it be a suggestion he's going to be in the squad? Previous players who've modeled it all have expressed an interest in playing the summer, and Campbell joins the growing list, adding; "It would mean everything to play. There has not been a GB team for a long, long time and I would be delighted to be part of a team that competes in our own country and be delighted to be part of something as big as this." "He's Fast, He's Keen, He's Speedy James McClean"... This song will stick in your minds for ages as it has my own. David Boyle stumbled upon this and put it on our Facebook page, and I implore you to watch it. It certainly deserves a wider audience, and could easily be a chant, if it's not already, can't say I've heard it if it is. "Speedy James McClean" by "TheMackemFolkSinger" absolutely superb stuff. Well done him.
For damaging cars... idiots! Hopefully they don't miss any matches
Oh Jordan, what have you done! Now, there's all for being a Mag in the Sunderland team, I'm sure plenty have been there before, but lad, have a word with yourself and some respect for your employer. Whilst Mr Laidler, an SAFC youth player of promise, appears to have deleted the tweet, and used youth vernacular along the lines of "haters don't bother me", on this sort of day, it's not wise to put that sort of thing into the open is it? With the follow up tweets, it looks like his account hasn't been hacked, nor am I particularly sure anyone would hack the account of an obscure youth teamer. One would hope club give him a slap on the wrists, and send him to his room with no supper, the little bugger.
