Adam Johnson will be hoping to add to his haul of caps against Moldova and Ukraine this coming break.
Further to Connor Wickham's call to the England Under-21 squad yesterday, there's further good news on the international front for newly signed winger Adam Johnson and Simon Mignolet who have both been called up by their respective countries for the forthcoming international dates.
Johnson's England career clearly hasn't been affected by his move to a 'smaller' club as is often thought to be the case by many a mainstream media pundit with Roy Hodgson hoping to use him in the forthcoming games against Moldova (Friday 7th September) and Ukraine (Tuesday 11th September) as World Cup qualifying for 2014 kicks off.
Supposed target Jermain Defoe is also in the squad, as is former Sunderland loanee Danny Welbeck, with both possibly being partnered in attack.
Meanwhile Simon Mignolet has also been called up by Belgium manager Marc Wilmots for the games against Wales and Croatia. Mignolet will be looking to earn his 11th cap for his country having sat on the bench for the entirety of last months win over Holland, but faces stiff competition in the talented squad from Thibault Courtois.
