Vaughan no longer all smiles as he looks set to miss significant time this summer through injury.
has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury, and could miss out on the season's opening game away at as a result.
Having undergone surgery on his Hernia earlier this summer, Vaughan suffered the setback in Korea. The Welshman was part of the traveling party but didn't set foot on the pitch in Seoul after suffering a bit of a niggle with it.
Now,has revealed a bit more about the injury in speaking local reporters, where he admitted it might be a few weeks before we see Vaughan back in action;
He had a few injections to sort everything out, did a bit of training on the day after our first game in Korea and felt great, but then the following day he did not feel so good. The medical staff are investigating and they think that they should be able to sort it out.
It is a setback because he could be out for a few weeks again, and pre-season is important.
It's unlikely that Vaughan was going to start the game at the Emirates regardless of fitness, but this certainly seems to rule him out from kicking any footballs in anger for the foreseeable future. The start of the season is only a few weeks away, and if Vaughan misses a few weeks, he'll be effectively playing the 2012/13 season without a preseason.
Vaughan still has a role in the team we think, but only really as a back up to Mr Reliable,. The loss of Vaughan does weaken our squad, but opens opportunity for the likes of to stake a claim.
