NEWS, NEWS, NEWS. NEWS-NEWS, NEWS, NEWS-NEWS, NEWS.
Happy Star Wars Day everyone, and May The Fourth be with you. Ok, now we've got that little bit of obvious humour out the way lets crack on with another SAFC news roundup.
Today being May the fourth (be with... STOP IT) we're here to inform you that on this day in 1936, Johnny Mapson, who we mentioned earlier in the week, made his debut for the club against Portsmouth at Roker Park. Now that's the Vader start an article... (STOP THIS AT ONCE!)
Anyway, here's today's bit of SAFC news for you my little Padawans (OH FOR FU...)
Finally, we're joining the big leagues. Today work officially began on us building an floodlight training pitch, and most crucially of all, an indoor one at the Academy Of Light - CLICK HERE
After rumours have circled this week about Connor Wickham heading on loan to previous club Ipswich Town, their boss Paul Jewell has been speaking about that situation, and claiming that he would love to bring the young striker back to the club - CLICK HERE
Although there's no names, named, The Journal also speculate that we're going to bring in two strikers. O'Neill has said that he wants two players to hit double figures next season, goals wise, which for me doesn't necessarily mean there's two coming in, but at least one should - CLICK HERE
Perhaps one of them was Basel striker Valentin Stocker. Although it would appear he's rejected us to move to Hoffenheim. Much like yesterday with Ola John, having only just heard about it now, it doesn't sound like it was ever a likely move - CLICK HERE
The Gaffer also reckons that we need four points from the last two games to secure a top ten position. I think he's about right, but it's going to be a very tough ask - CLICK HERE
There's a canny interview with the highly successful SAFC Womens team manager, Mick Mulhearn, over on top ladies football website, She Kicks - CLICK HERE
