I just want you, to news with me tonight.
It's Friday, Huzzah! I hear you cry. Yes, yes it is, and before you all head off to the pub, here's what's been rocking the world of Sunderland AFC today.
Actually before we get to today's news, here's a bit of trivia about today, the 30th of March. Did you know in 1976, having failed to capitalise on the FA Cup success three years earlier, Bobby Kerr grabbed the only goal at home to York City to take Bob Stokoe's men a giant leap closer to the First Division. They completed the job a month later going up as Champions.
That's right. Well now you've got that under your belt, let's see what's been happening today...
The Mirror are linking us with moves for Gabby Agbonlahor and Richard Dunne. I'd welcome a move for Agbonlahor, but Dunne not to much. Good in his day, but past his prime now as we want to go forward as a club. Agbonlahor the better, but doubtful in my mind - CLICK HERE
Mark Douglas of the Journal links us to fellow Villain, Carlos Cuellar. For me that lands somewhere between Agbonalhor and Dunne. An alright move, if indeed it comes to anything. Mark's usually quite good with this sort of thing, so look out for it in the summer - CLICK HERE
However, Martin O'Neill is likely to hate us, as he says that all this talk of buying Villa players is premature and 'pure speculation'... which he isn't impressed with. Guess that's an emphatic 'no' to our opening gambit. Oh well. For all quotes - CLICK HERE
According to today's Daily Star, we've offered Derry City £500k to get out of the James McClean sell-on clause. If James stayed for his career at SAFC, and Derry refuse, they could feel rather foolish - CLICK HERE
Remember our garish 1996/97-ish away kit which was yellow with teal, faded, stripes down the shoulders? It's finally got the recognition it deserves in Four Four Two's list of the twenty worst kits to ever grace the Premier League - CLICK HERE
If you've got £38 in your back pocket you're £37 richer than me. Also, it means you can pay on the gate for tomorrow's match with Manchester City. Get yourself down, it's a cracking day out - CLICK HERE
There's a nice video/montage thing of James McClean's rapid rise to success on the website of The Derry Journal. Well worth 4 minutes of your time to watch and remind you of just how far he's come in such a short space of time. To view - CLICK HERE
And finally, there's a good column summing up our season so far by Scott Wilson in the Northern Echo. I suggest you give it a read - CLICK HERE
