The Roker Roundup: February 13th 2012 - Sess Wants To Stay & Knott's Loan Extended

Back once again like renegade masters, it's The Roker Roundup to bring you up to speed on all things Sunderland AFC which happened or were of interest today. However with today being a Monday edition, there's a few bits and bobs from the weekend too.

We've all been a bit worried about Stephane Sessegnon's future at the club, but he's given an interview in L'Equipe which should drag a few away from the ledge. From one potential club legend to one who is firmly established in that role, Jimmy Montgomery has been announced as the first ever "club ambassador"... Youngster Billy Knott has been impressing everyone at AFC Wimbledon, and has had his loan move extended for a further month. Best of luck to him, and here's hoping League Two action has toughened him up for a first team push next season - CLICK HERE

Stand-in captain, John O'Shea, has been talking about the very same game too. In short he thinks that we should have had a penalty for Per Mertesacker's basketball skills, and he wants revenge in the forthcoming cup tie. Fair play I suppose - CLICK HERE

Ex-SAFC manager Mick McCarthy was sacked by Wolves today too. Shame, he's an absolutely cracking bloke. On the plus side it might free him up for some more of his wonderfully blunt co-commentary. The massive downside is that there's now a chance for fellow ex-manager Steve Bruce to return to the Premier League. Surely Wolves won't be so silly.

That said, Big Mick's now free on Valentines Day so look out ladies...
