Why The Northern League Matters...

Saturday the 9th April brings Northern League Day, where everyone is being encouraged to support their local Northern League team. I know we're at home to WBA that day, but if you can't make it, or fancy some proper football then head down to your local team and support grassroots football. The Northern League are working to have games kick off earlier, and later so you can still get to SAFC v WBA should you wish.

I was recently asked to write about my experiences with the Northern League by organiser of the day, Michael Hudson for his Northern League Day Blog.

Here's what I had to say on the links between The Northern League, and my two beloved teams; Sunderland & Jarrow Roofing. There's more links between them than you'd think...

The Roker Report fully back this initiative to support grassroots football, and we will feature another article on the big day nearer the time, so look out for that.
