Roker Riches - SAFC v Notts County (FAC3) Betting Preview

Off to a good start with BetFred’s Gavin Callaghan at the helm of Roker Riches, he pointed out Bardsley for first goal at Villa, whilst we took SAFC to win 1-0. Could this be the start of a glorious hot-streak? Let’s find out...

First off, if you took Phil Bardsley to score first against Villa at 40/1 on Wednesday night then congratulations. I hope you enjoy spending your winnings.

Standby for footballing ‘experts’ the world over to fill column inches this weekend with sermons on how the ‘magic’ has been taken away by influx in over-paid, foreign footballers.

Such a sermon seems dated this weekend as we look toward Steve Bruce versus Paul Ince on the Stadium of Light touchline. Two former Manchester United teammates, who are no stranger to this famous cup competition. Word of warning however, Paul Ince has been to the SoL in cup competition before and left with a win. His then Blackburn side defeated Roy Keane’s Sunderland in the League Cup in 2008, and with injuries galore on Wearside, I’m sure the former Middlesbrough captain, now Notts County manager, will be eyeing a cup upset.

But here I go again with the romanticism. The last time the Black Cats lifted the famous trophy, we were managed by a Geordie turned Mackem, could it be the case that we are this time round too? The Black Cats have already shown this season that virtually none of the ‘big boys’ will win on Wearside and home advantage could prove pivotal.

I fancy Steve Bruce’s side to win comfortably on Saturday by 3-0 with Gyan scoring first at 25/1.

If you are keeping faith then Sunderland, Newcastle and Middlesbrough all to win 4/1 and Goals Galore is also available for you on all FA Cup and football league fixtures.

Away from Wearside, I would look at one or two shocks and surprises and for me; I just have a feeling that Liverpool could rekindle the magic at Old Trafford on Sunday. At 5/1 they are a big price and there is real value to be had.

Callaghan’s Best Bet: Gyan to score first, and SAFC win 3-0, 25/1

Roker Reports Best Bet: Elmohamady to score at any time, 4/1

You can get these great odds along with Goals Galore, plus a whole lot more only on www.betfred.com. Lets all be lucky this weekend!
